Get in shape. The top earners in the home business industry will tell you they achieved success by personally developing: attending industry conferences and seminars; reading industry-related articles and leadership books; reviewing newsletters; and getting help from a mentor/coach.  According to an article in Pink magazine, the top sales performers carry out these activities significantly more often than middle and bottom performers.

Continuously Network. Most home business owners have heard of the power in networking with other successful people.  Yet, research shows that top leaders network more frequently and more strategically – networking with other business owners and at professional associations.  However, power networkers tend to network in all arenas of life.  Don’t forget opportunities to network at kids’ events, and church or community events.  Listen for common interests and strike up a conversation that could potentially grow into one in which you share your business products, services or opportunities.

Show your worth. Now that you’ve personally developed, bring your knowledge to the table that others do not have.  Showcase your knowledge to the world.  Being the expert can bring you interested potential customers and can lead to long-term credibility.
